Happy first weekend of March! Here’s your weekend lineup! Enjoy!

Friday

Ceiba – there’s nothing I like better than a good happy hour and Ceiba has one of the best in town. Break out of work a little early for the 3-6pm HH that includes $5 cocktails (margs today!) or stop by post dinner for their late night HH featuring half-price bar food, $5 specialty cocktails.

Standard – this 14th Street beer garden that’s known for its BBQ, German beer and fabulous patio reopened March 1st. Grab some friends and get happy over beers this afternoon. Bonus: order the homemade donuts.

A Don Cornelius Soul Train Tribute Party – spend just $5 to get your groove on in remembrance of the amazing Mr. Cornelius. I anticipate lots of Soul Train lines and funky moves.

Saturday

Brewer’s Ball – benefiting the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, this eighth annual beer and food tasting features 30 restaurants and breweries serving samples including Dogfish Head and Flying Dog and a local trio of Port City Brewing Company, DC Brau and Chocolate City Beer.

Chocolate Lovers Festival – I almost passed out when I learned about this Fairfax, VA festival that is a chocoholic’s dream. Head down to the Old Town Hall for cakes, fudge, brownies, ice cream, and any other form of chocolate you’ve dreamed of.

Sunday

In Vibrant Color: Vintage CelebrityPortraits from the Harry Warnecke Studio – the Portrait Gallery plays host to this exhibit that features eye-catching portraits taken by New York Daily News’s Harry Warnecke, who helped give the paper’s Sunday News magazine its distinctive look.

Graffiato – if you haven’t been to Top Chef-star Mike Isabella’s restaurant, definitely make a reservation for their new brunch that includes cinnamon knots with Nutella and meatballs with polenta and eggs. #Yum

Tuesday

DC Brau St. Baldricks FUNdraiser – pop by my buddy, Matt Croke’s bar, Boundary Stone, for this super awesome fundraiser for the St. Baldrick Foundation which supports children with cancer. Event starts at 5pm and a $25 donation gets you a DC Brau glass and unlimited DC Brau Corruption Ale til 9pm.

If you have events you would like to see in FamousDC’s Weekend lineup, please email me at [email protected]. We love invites!!
